Q4 2023 Performance of Navigation Apps in Brazil

In the final quarter of 2023, Brazil's navigation app landscape saw varied performance across the top contenders. Data from Sensor Tower highlights the download and active user trends for these essential travel companions.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a strong user base with weekly active users peaking at 7.3M in mid-December. Downloads for the app showed an upward trend, reaching a high of 278K in the last week of December.

Google Maps, another major player, also experienced a rise in downloads in early December, hitting over 250K before declining to 141K by year's end. Despite the fluctuation in downloads, weekly active users remained robust, with a peak of 7.3M in early December before dropping to 6.8M towards the quarter's close.

Google Earth saw a more modest performance, with downloads decreasing throughout the quarter to a low of 34K before a slight increase to 49K in the last week. Active users showed a similar downward trajectory, ending the quarter at around 387K.

The app GPS+ Maps, Navigation, Traffic, while smaller in scale, demonstrated a steady revenue stream, particularly notable in the last week with earnings of $761. Downloads and active users experienced some volatility, with downloads reaching nearly 14K mid-December and weekly active users hovering around 35K by quarter's end.

Lastly, Live Earth Map: Street View 3D encountered significant fluctuations, with a notable spike in downloads (26K) and active users (33K) in early October. However, by the end of December, downloads settled at 10K, with active users reaching just under 15K.
